Being one of the 42% that last month answered your poll describing myself as: “Jeans, T-shirt, fleece,” I feel compelled to point out the environmental negatives involved in cruising. The concept sounds lovely, but the reality is that it is very hard on our planet, as is resort living. There’s just something untenable about a huge motorized floating hotel. I know some folks are in love with cruising and it’s not like I would castigate them: I just couldn’t enjoy doing it knowing the contribution I’d be making to ecological imbalance.
